Introduction

Fonix Telematics are a global supplier of vehicle telematics, tracking and in-vehicle video monitoring solutions. We collect, process and store customer data which may include personal information. This data needs to be stored and processed in line with the General Data Protection Regulation.

Fonix regards the lawful and correct treatment of personal data as important to the achievement of our objectives, to the success of our operations and to maintaining confidence between those with whom we deal and ourselves. We therefore ensure that our organisation treats personal information fairly, lawfully and transparently. To this end Fonix fully endorses and adheres to the Data Protection Principles, as set out in the GDPR.

The customer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the data they enter, and ensuring the data not retained on the system longer than necessary.

Why do we collect this data?

The data collected is used to provide the customer with the product and services.

How & Where Is Your Data Stored

 

All data is stored on our UK based servers which are hosted by Microsoft Azure. Microsoft Azure are ISO27001 certified and guarantees the highest level of security.

We are committed to keeping your data safe. We use a number of technologies to ensure data is stored securely as well as organisational processes to protect the data collected.

 

How long will we keep your data?

 

We only keep your data for as long as is necessary for the purpose(s) for which it was provided / collected.

Who Do We Share Your Personal Data With?

The only data we will pass on to third parties will be essential to the processing of your order. For example, we will supply your name and address (and possibly telephone number) to our delivery courier and your billing details to our payment provider.

We provide only the information they need to perform their specific services and they may only use your data for the exact purposes we specify in our contract with them. We do not pass on names and addresses to third parties for the use of marketing.

 

Your Rights

You have the right to request:

Access to the personal data we hold about you.

The correction of your personal data when incorrect, out of date or incomplete.

Restriction of the use of your personal data.

That we stop processing your personal data.

That we stop using your personal data for direct marketing
